About the Role

This position involves conducting comprehensive psychological assessments to evaluate students' cognitive abilities, academic skills, social-emotional functioning, and developmental levels. You will interpret assessment results and provide insights to inform instructional planning, intervention strategies, and individualized education plans (IEPs). Collaboration with teachers, administrators, and other educational professionals is essential to develop and implement effective interventions and behavior management strategies.

Responsibilities
  • Counseling and Support Services: Provide counseling and support services to students individually or in group settings, addressing a wide range of social, emotional, and behavioral concerns.
  • Consultation and Collaboration: Consult with parents, guardians, and external stakeholders to foster effective partnerships and support students' overall well-being and academic success.
  • Team Meetings and Expertise: Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, including 504 meetings and Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, and contribute expertise in addressing students' needs and goal-setting.
  • Professional Development: Stay current with research, best practices, and legal requirements related to school psychology and special education.
Requirements
  • A Master's or doctoral degree in School Psychology is required.
  • A valid license or certification as a School Psychologist is also necessary.
  • Proficient in conducting psychoeducational assessments and interpreting assessment results.
  • Solid knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and procedures.
  • Strong understanding of various behavioral intervention strategies and positive behavior support systems.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical guidelines.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
