Senior Oracle Cloud Database Engineer

Job Description
U.S. Bank is seeking a highly skilled Oracle Cloud Database Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Oracle Server Engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our global Microsoft Oracle database systems on-prem and in the public cloud.
This role involves identifying and measuring areas of opportunity, optimizing processes, and designing and implementing automation capabilities. You will work closely with our Oracle Server Engineering team to manage and formulate the processes for moving to the cloud and maintain the high level of support that our customers have grown accustomed to.
Traditional Oracle Server engineering and administration experience is necessary to optimize existing and build new capabilities. This position requires participation in our on-call calendar as part of a large Oracle DBA team.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
- At least 7 years of experience within a total information technology (IT) environment
- At least 7 years of experience with the design, development, and support of technology infrastructure
Preferred Skills/Experience
- Managing and maintaining data definitions in all production and non-production databases and replication servers
- Ability to understand server hardware and installation details
- Experience in Linux Operating systems and installations
- Experience in Oracle prerequisites for 19c and 23i
- Experience in Oracle RPM and Kernel parameters
- Managing database distribution, security, and access requirements
- Designing and developing logical and physical layers of databases
- Installing, and maintaining database software
- Monitoring performance and performing database training and assists application developers
- Performing Back-up, recovery, archiving, and conversions
- Experience in AWS and/or Azure technologies
- Experience as Oracle Database Administrator
- Infrastructure as code (IAC) familiar with data migration Terraform Ansible
Location Expectations
The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.
