Job Overview

This role is project-based and contingent upon the duration of client contracts. The main responsibility is to deliver support for Olympus equipment within the Operating Room and other designated areas, focusing on the management of relevant devices, basic troubleshooting, and training for the appropriate care and operation of Olympus equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Olympus staff with the setup of equipment.
  • Coordinate installation schedules with audiovisual service providers and equipment manufacturers.
  • Set up and dismantle plug & play video systems according to instructions.
  • Conduct training sessions for operating room staff on Olympus equipment as needed.
  • Provide management support for all Olympus equipment throughout the surgical process.
  • Assess and troubleshoot equipment issues as required, including basic electronic repairs.
  • Organize regular evaluations of equipment with clients to determine repair or replacement needs.
  • Perform routine maintenance, including pre-use inspections and functionality tests to prevent operational issues.
  • Collaborate with clients to schedule repairs or replacements for damaged or worn equipment.
  • Follow protocols for reporting lost or damaged equipment and coordinate with shipping and receiving departments for repairs.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and work ethic in accordance with Olympus standards.
  • Comply with HIPAA and other patient confidentiality regulations at all times.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience is necessary. Relevant work history will be considered.
  • At least 1 year of experience in related fields such as electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, nursing, or computer science is required.
  • Willingness to travel less than 20% annually, including potential overnight trips.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work flexible hours within a standard 40-hour work week.
  • Capacity to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and 20 pounds frequently.
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
  • Must have good vision (corrected) and dexterity for handling equipment.

Preferred:

  • Experience in operating rooms and knowledge of surgical procedures and aseptic techniques is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of electronics and audiovisual systems.
  • Basic proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office, along with strong communication skills.
  • Comfortable with public speaking and conducting demonstrations.
  • Demonstrated self-motivation, initiative, and creativity.
  • Excellent work ethic and time management skills, with the ability to make independent decisions.
  • Desire to learn and develop professionally, with a commitment to exceptional customer service.
