Job Summary

L.F. Jennings, Inc. is seeking a skilled Preconstruction Manager to lead our North Carolina team in Cary. This key role involves representing the company, managing the Preconstruction process, and collaborating with clients and design teams. The ideal candidate has 3-5 years of experience in hard bid and negotiated work, team leadership, and pre-construction activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage project budgets, including quantity takeoffs, subcontractor input, and historical pricing information.
  • Prepare conceptual and detailed budgets from various levels of documents, such as napkin sketches, schematic design, and bid sets.
  • Lead teams of estimators during the bid process, ensuring proper scope coverage and meeting bid dates.
  • Review bid sets and identify critical components that require focus from the bid team and operations.
  • Lead the buyout process once a project is awarded, reviewing subcontract scopes of work and ensuring no gaps between trades.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in pre-construction, estimating, and team leadership.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, including hard bid and negotiated work.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
