About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior RF Design Engineer to join our team at Mini-Circuits. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for delivering innovative designs that exceed customer expectations and meet the highest standards of manufacturability.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will have a strong background in RF amplifier component design, including experience with fine soldering of SMT components, RF measurements, calibration techniques, and rapid prototyping. You will also possess excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop RF & Microwave circuits, components, and sub-assemblies, with a focus on power amplifiers for the CATV market.
  • Modify existing designs to improve performance, quality, manufacturability, production yields, cost, and other critical factors.
  • Implement a device perturbation and sensitivity analysis process to ensure the highest possible production yields and meeting deadlines.
  • Develop design plans and determine design specifications based on customer objectives and requirements.
  • Work with packaging engineers to develop and verify thermal models for various design options.
  • Direct and manage the performance of the groups circuit & component analysis and simulation effort using industry-standard CAD tools.
  • Research and utilize the latest techniques and approaches, analyze user input, identify, and establish performance standards.
  • Develop process and procedures to verify and validate designs through simulations, tests, and reliability studies.
Requirements
  • MSEE with minimum 5 years' management experience or BSEE with minimum 10 years' experience.
  • Minimum 5 years' relevant experience in CATV amplifier component design, including RF bench experience.
  • Deep knowledge of RF amplifier distortion, measurement techniques, and mitigation approaches.
  • Ability to lead junior designers with demonstrated hands-on bench skills in RF disciplines.
  • Strong knowledge of circuit simulation concepts and ability to merge theory with practice on the bench.
  • Professional and positive approach, self-motivated, and strong in building relationships.
  • Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience working for an ISO company that practices LEAN manufacturing.
Estimated Salary Range

$147,000 - $221,000 per year.
