Job Overview

The Municipal Electric Authority of GA seeks a Senior Internal Audit Lead to drive the development and execution of its risk-based audit plan.

This role requires a seasoned professional with exceptional technical skills, strong interpersonal abilities, and a collaborative approach to support the Manager, Internal Audit, and staff Internal Auditor.

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per annumKey Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Planning Process: Develop and execute the annual audit plan, including special projects, assessing the accuracy of amounts billed through joint owner relationships, compliance with policies and procedures, review of financial and related information, and assessing internal controls.
  • Execute Internal Audit Engagements: Conduct interviews with personnel at all levels, perform walk-throughs of core business processes and controls, validate billings and account balances, gather and evaluate audit evidence, and develop communications for Internal Audit results.
  • Cost-Sharing Reviews: Participate in reviewing MEAG Power's bond offering documentation and performing quality reviews of financial information prior to release to the public.
Requirements:
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • 5-8 years' experience in internal audit, external audit, accounting, finance, or risk management.
  • Knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS), and Institute of Internal Auditor (IIA) International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF).
