UNC Health Care is seeking a skilled RN Physician Practice professional to support the staff of our multispecialty surgery clinics in Raleigh, NC.

The clinic is closed nights, weekends, and holidays.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized individual with excellent communication skills to provide patient care within the scope of practice for the licensed Registered Nurse. Responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrating competence in patient care skills within the scope of practice for the Registered Nurse, to include patient assessment, assisting with exams and procedures, administering medications, and patient education.
  • Processing orders, returning patient calls, and notifying of diagnostic results as directed by the physician.
  • Appropriately documenting care provided in the patient's medical record.
  • Facilitating effective patient flow and assisting with prioritization of work assignments.
  • Assisting with the maintenance of adequate levels of supplies and performing and documenting medical equipment safety checks.
  • Adhering to the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics. Recognizing, supporting, and utilizing evidence-based nursing practices.
  • Maintaining compliance with established safety and regulatory guidelines, including HIPAA, OSHA, and infection prevention policies and procedures. Participating in unit-based performance improvement activities.
  • Demonstrating good customer service skills when interacting with patients, families, and visitors. Exhibiting effective communication and teamwork.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A Diploma, Associate Degree (ADN) or Bachelors Degree (BSN) from an accredited school of Nursing.
  • Licensed to practice as Registered Nurse in North Carolina.
  • Previous experience in physician office, urgent care, emergency department preferred.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret clinical information and technical procedures.
  • Ability to document clinical information.
  • Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions from patients, physicians, family members, and other Rex staff.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary of $27.89 - $40.09 per hour, paid bi-weekly, based on experience. Other benefits include comprehensive health insurance, retirement plan, paid time off, and more.
