Job Title: After School Program Lead Teacher

Are you passionate about working with school-age children? Do you have a knack for creating engaging and educational experiences? We are seeking a qualified and enthusiastic After School Program Lead Teacher to join our team at the YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids.

Job Summary:

The After School Program Lead Teacher will be responsible for planning, developing, and implementing daily lesson plans for our school-age children. This is a part-time position, requiring weekday availability from 2:45 PM to 6:00 PM.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and lead daily lesson plans that promote learning and fun
  • Organize and participate in games and activities that foster socialization and teamwork
  • Provide weekly lesson plans to parents, keeping them informed about their child's activities
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance and arrival/departure times
  • Supervise children at all times, ensuring their safety and well-being
  • Conduct parent-teacher conferences at least annually to discuss progress and goals
  • Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment, with adequate supplies and materials
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent in a youth development related field, or current enrollment in a degree program
  • At least six months to one year of experience in youth development, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to interact with people of all ethnic backgrounds, ages, and lifestyles
  • Ability and desire to work with school-age children
