Job Overview

Givaudan is seeking an experienced Automation Systems Specialist to join our team in Devon. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing reliable controls-based automation systems to support operations and engineering with process improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Optimize, Maintain and Repair: Implement reliable controls-based automation systems to support operations and engineering with process improvement initiatives. Optimize, maintain and repair all existing automation systems through reliability initiatives and ensure systems are up-to-date.
  • Instruct and Teach: Train and instruct Maintenance technicians/mechanics in the troubleshooting and programming of automation systems. Instruct production personnel in the operation and interfaces of automation systems.
  • Repair Controls: Assist maintenance team in the troubleshooting and repair of controls and automation systems.
  • Troubleshoot and Document: Complete, diagnose and troubleshoot all assigned work orders and provide solutions where necessary. Ensure proper documentation is maintained on all plant controls and automation systems.
  • Instrumentation: Set up, calibrate, and troubleshoot various flow, temperature, and pressure sensors.

About You:

We are looking for a skilled Automation Systems Specialist with a 2-year technical degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Programming engineering or equivalent experience and education. A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in process controls and PLC programming is preferred. Additionally, we require a minimum of 2 years of industrial maintenance work experience, preferably in the Food and/or Chemical industry.

Requirements:

  • A 2-year technical degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Programming engineering or equivalent experience and education
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in process controls and PLC programming
  • Minimum of 2 years of industrial maintenance work experience; Food and/or Chemical industry is preferred
  • Solid customer service orientation and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of Allen Bradley Programming is highly desirable
  • Prioritization of workload with the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks at the same time
  • Communication skills with all levels of employees
  • Ability to troubleshoot all aspects of a controls system
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Salary Information:

The estimated salary for this position is $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience.
