Job Description

As an Automation System Specialist, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) application programs based on contract documents and system control narratives. You will work closely with project managers and engineers to ensure timely and accurate project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop PLC application programs using manufacturer's programming software
  • Install developed application software and verify proper execution
  • Interface company-supplied equipment with third-party vendor systems via industrial communication protocols
  • Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
  • Demonstrate overall system functionality to owners, engineers, and contractors
  • Provide training to operators, supervisors, and administrative personnel

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or an Engineering field (or military service with an honorable discharge)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in PLC programming (Siemens, Schneider, and/or Modicon)
  • Knowledge and experience with PLC hardware
  • Good communication skills and ability to work well with others

Compensation

The estimated salary for this position is $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. This compensation package includes a comprehensive benefits program and opportunities for professional growth and advancement.
