City of South Fulton is seeking a highly skilled Facilities Project Manager to oversee the planning, design, and implementation of mechanical systems in our facilities. As a key member of our team, you will ensure that all systems are efficient, reliable, and compliant with applicable codes and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Management: Lead and manage mechanical projects from conception through completion, including planning, design, budgeting, scheduling, and implementation.
  • Design and Engineering: Develop detailed engineering plans and specifications for mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with city, state, and federal codes and standards.
  • Construction Oversight: Oversee construction activities, ensuring contractors adhere to design specifications, codes, and city standards, conducting regular site inspections and managing quality control processes.
  • Maintenance Coordination: Collaborate with maintenance teams to develop and implement preventative maintenance programs for mechanical systems, providing technical support and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Budgeting and Cost Control: Prepare project budgets, monitor expenditures, and manage project costs to ensure projects are completed within budget.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure all projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations, promoting a culture of safety on all project sites.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for project-related communication with stakeholders, including city officials, contractors, consultants, and the public.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Plumbing Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical and plumbing engineering, focusing on facilities and project management.
  • Licenses/Certifications: A Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred. LEED certification is a plus.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and project management software (e.g., MS Project).
  • Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of mechanical and plumbing systems, building codes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and manage multiple projects simultaneously, focusing on quality and efficiency.

The estimated salary for this position is $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. This position involves both office and fieldwork, requiring frequent visits to construction sites.
