Job Description

This Production Specialist - Manufacturing Support position will assist and work with various job titles in the preparation of production parts, including masking, sanding, and part marking. Employees in this role will help to prepare production parts for various processes, such as plating, anodizing, and degreasing.

Responsibilities:

  1. Visually sweep areas to determine what needs to be done or obtain job assignments from leads.
  2. Review Work Orders (WO) and drawings to determine work to be accomplished.
  3. Obtain and examine manufacturing enhanced drawings (MED), drawings, tools, and Boeing specifications using online computing equipment.
  4. Remove parts off of load bars and place them on tables to be worked.
  5. Remove Mylar from parts and prepare surfaces for part marking or painting.
  6. Use squares and scales to measure parts for correct location for part marking.
  7. Apply finishes prior to part marking to seal information on production parts.
  8. Load detail parts on conveyor belts so they can be part marked and counted by video jet machines.
  9. Operate and maintain video jet marking machines.
  10. Work with area leads, inspection, spray painters, planning, and engineering to confirm masking areas on detail parts.
  11. Apply various masking tapes to protect finishes.
  12. Assist spray painters and sanders in loading/unloading tables for preparation of parts.
  13. Assist tank tenders in the anodizing process.
  14. Plug threaded holes on detail parts with plastic caps to prevent paint damage.
  15. Perform rework or other authorized instructions.
  16. Check work after completion of each operation.
  17. Sell in-process or completed operations to inspectors.
  18. Count/load and protective wrap finished production parts for shipping.
  19. Load/store completed jobs into DCAC MRM systems using online computing equipment.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience using basic math.
  • Able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Physical ability to stand for duration of shift; able to lift, carry, move, and manipulate large volumes and varieties of parts.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • 1+ years of experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to lift 35 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Willingness to work overtime if needed.
  • Experience working with precision measuring tools.
  • Experience reading and interpreting drawings, specifications, material processes, schematic, and diagrams.
