Job Summary: Wurth Wood Group is a leading supplier of Hardwood Lumber, Plywood, Molding, Cabinet Hardware/Supplies, Laminate, and Building Supplies. We are seeking an experienced Transportation Specialist for the Nashville, TN branch. The ideal candidate is a hard-working, organized, self-directed, and highly customer service-oriented individual who is dedicated to helping expand the Wurth Wood Group good name.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive a CMV to deliver the product within the route assigned.
  • Able to be forklift certified.
  • Perform general housekeeping tasks and maintain the cleanliness of vehicles and other areas as instructed.
  • Prepare, process, and maintain all necessary transportation documentation & information - both in and out of various operating systems - required for DOT compliance.
  • Develop strong interaction, in and amongst customers, service providers, and the internal team to ensure fluid, efficient movement of product.
  • Secure proof of delivery by using a supplied (EPOD) Electronic Proof of Delivery device.
  • Handle customer inquiries and resolve complaints in a timely manner through collaboration with the Operations manager and sales team.
  • Comply with all applicable safety, transportation regulations, and company policies.
  • Responsible for maintaining Quality and Safety awareness.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Maintain a clean driving record.
  • Maintain a Valid Commercial Drivers License and Medical Card.
  • Maintain forklift certification.
  • Must be able and willing to lift up to 75 pounds using proper lifting techniques.
  • Experience as a transportation specialist in a related industry, preferred.
  • Must be able to strap and secure cargo and properly arrange and balance it within the vehicle.
  • Have basic knowledge of all DOT regulations.
  • High standard of professionalism and ethics.
  • Preferred style of teamwork, and collaboration.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and with written communications.
  • Ability to interface with customers and employees fostering excellent communication skills and customer service.
