PacifiCorp is seeking a highly skilled Wind Safety Professional to support wind generation operations in Wyoming.

Job Description

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in safety administration, regulatory compliance, and industrial hygiene. Key responsibilities include:

  • Evaluating the effectiveness of risk reduction strategies
  • Investigating accidents and near misses, and following up on related activities
  • Providing expert advice and counsel on safety, health, and regulation compliance matters
  • Assisting with facility safety committees, plant safety administrators, and other personnel in conducting pilot projects and safety-related initiatives

This role requires a proactive approach to monitoring and auditing systems, as well as maintaining a climb training gear program and safety inventory. Additionally, the successful candidate will provide support on occupational health and industrial hygiene issues, conduct safety training and education programs, and demonstrate the use of safety equipment.

Requirements

To be considered for this position, applicants must possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Safety, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • A minimum of three years' experience in Industrial Health, Safety, or a related field
  • Proficient knowledge of rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and practices applicable to federal, state, and local governmental laws and OSHA standards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including ability to consult and resolve sensitive customer issues
  • Ability to work with all organizational levels, including people with different styles and backgrounds, and to work as a member of a team
  • Ability to develop alternatives, standards, or practices within defined areas
  • Proficient with the use of personal computers, including spreadsheet, database, word processing, and presentation applications

The ideal candidate will also have analysis, assessment, and investigation skills to determine recommendations or plans of action. Travel may be required, and the successful candidate should be able to work at heights and climb wind turbines repeatedly during the day. Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools is essential.
