Job Summary

Northwell Health is seeking a highly skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to work in a fast-paced environment and contribute to the delivery of exceptional patient care.

About the Role

This Radiology Technologist will be responsible for operating X-ray equipment to produce high-quality radiographs, performing quality control checks, and maintaining accurate documentation. Additionally, this role involves translating complex medical information into layman terms to alleviate patient anxiety, positioning patients correctly for radiographs, and recognizing and reporting any adverse reactions or abnormalities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate X-ray equipment to produce radiographs of designated body parts.
  • Perform quality control checks to ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Maintain accurate and legible documentation of patient information and radiograph results.
  • Translate complex medical information into clear and concise language for patients.
  • Position patients correctly for radiographs according to departmental standards.
  • Recognize and report any adverse reactions or abnormalities to the Radiologist.
Requirements

To be considered for this position, applicants must possess a vocational or technical school diploma and a current license to practice as a Radiologist in New York State, as well as ARRT registration. A minimum of 1-3 years of technical experience is also required.

Work Environment

This role involves working in a dynamic healthcare environment with variable schedules, including flexibility to work up to 2 hours before or after regular shifts.

Compensation

The estimated salary range for this position is $45.74-$56/hour, based on factors such as location, specialty, years of relevant experience, education, and credentials.
