Ophthalmic Technician

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Ophthalmic Technician to join our team as a Medical Support Specialist. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ophthalmic care and be able to provide exceptional support to our clinical staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to our ophthalmologists and optometrists, including data collection and documentation.
- Assist with patient care, including visual acuity testing, manual lensometry, and other diagnostic procedures.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical history, test results, and treatment plans.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Perform instrument maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure optimal equipment function.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; higher education preferred.
- Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) certification preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in ophthalmic care, preferably in a clinical setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information.
