Position Overview

We are seeking dedicated individuals for full-time and part-time roles as we expand our operations. Shifts will vary between early morning and evening hours, with weekend availability required for at least one day each week. Part-time employees must commit to a minimum of 24 hours per week.

Role of the Store Cooperator: Our team members are the friendly faces that engage with our customers and community members. Their efforts are vital to our mission of providing healthy food options and fostering community wellness. Team members will be trained across various departments, including cashiering, stocking, and food preparation, taking pride in their responsibilities. Key Responsibilities

CUSTOMER SERVICE
  1. Foster a welcoming and informative shopping environment through positive interactions.
  2. Deliver exceptional customer service in line with our commitment to quality.
  3. Direct customer inquiries to the Manager on Duty when necessary.
  4. Ensure accurate transactions at the Point of Sale.
  5. Maintain cleanliness in personal work areas and assist with store upkeep.
  6. Develop a thorough understanding of store offerings to assist customers effectively.
  7. Utilize proper communication protocols via phone and intercom.
  8. Engage with customers in a respectful and clear manner.
STORE OPERATIONS
  1. Demonstrate reliability by arriving on time and being prepared for shifts.
  2. Stay informed about daily responsibilities through employee communications.
  3. Follow attendance and break policies diligently.
  4. Complete assigned tasks and participate in training sessions.
  5. Maintain organized and clean workspaces.
  6. Report equipment needs or maintenance issues to supervisors.
  7. Adhere to safety and conflict resolution guidelines.
MERCHANDISING & PROMOTIONS
  1. Ensure accurate product displays and timely inventory management.
  2. Remove expired or damaged items in accordance with store protocols.
  3. Assist with order reception and communicate any discrepancies.
  4. Participate in regular inventory checks.
  5. Help maintain appealing product presentations and accurate signage.
  6. Engage customers with product knowledge and sampling opportunities.
Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Working Conditions
  • Work in a retail grocery environment.
  • Manage varying temperatures in different store areas.
  • Utilize various equipment and technology for daily tasks.
Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates should possess the following:
  • Must be at least 17 years old, with a valid work permit if under 18.
  • A willingness to learn and adapt to job requirements.
  • Availability to work at least one weekend day each week.
  • A positive and friendly demeanor.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a retail or cooperative setting is advantageous.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to use office equipment and technology regularly.
  • Capability to lift and carry weights between 20 and 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and perform various physical tasks for extended periods.
