Nurse Manager for Operating Room Operations

At Seattle Children's, we are seeking a seasoned Nurse Manager to lead our Operating Room team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the OR, ensuring that patients receive the highest quality care in a safe and efficient manner.

About the Role

As a Nurse Manager, you will be responsible for managing a team of registered nurses and other support staff, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure that they have the skills and resources needed to deliver high-quality care.

  • Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the management of OR staff, including recruitment, hiring, training, and evaluation.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain accreditation standards.
  • Foster a culture of safety and quality within the OR, promoting best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement effective care plans for patients undergoing surgery.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in nursing leadership, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care. You should be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple tasks and deadlines while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Requirements:
  • Masters degree in Nursing or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a leadership role, preferably in an OR setting.
  • National certification in a clinical specialty area (e.g., CNOR, PALS).
