About the Role

The Maintenance Technician is a crucial member of our team, responsible for ensuring the overall physical condition of our communities and providing exceptional service to our valued residents. This role involves diagnosing maintenance issues, making necessary repairs, and ensuring all resident service requests and community maintenance are completed in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee one or more assets and supervise general maintenance engineers and technicians.
  • Ensure the successful execution of all company safety and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Deliver the highest level of resident satisfaction through responsive, consistent, positive, and professional interactions.
  • Work a rotating on-call schedule to provide 24/7 maintenance coverage.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED graduate level.
  • Minimum of 7 years of maintenance experience with no certifications or 4 years' experience with EPA 608 Universal required.
  • Approved designations or degree/license/certification(s) in at least one of the following: HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Appliance Repair Certification, or Carpentry.
  • Demonstrated strong customer service skills.
  • Advanced knowledge in at least one of the following disciplines: electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry.
  • Ability to diagnose problems and implement repairs.
  • Ability to perform Quality Control on work and repairs completed.
  • Demonstrated ability to train on skill trades.
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Ability to provide guidance and training to less senior technicians.
  • Required training for Maintenance Tech III completed within 15 months of hire/promotion date.
  • Valid, state-issued driver's license with a safe driving record is required.
Physical Demands and Work Conditions

Regularly use hands to manipulate tools, machinery, equipment, supplies, and office equipment. Frequently stand, reach with hands and arms, climb ladders, balance, and stoop. Sit and stand to do clerical work. Regularly lift and move equipment and supplies up to 50-75 lbs.

Work is performed in and outside a maintenance/machinery environment and in and outside residential properties. Employee frequently interacts directly with residents, maintenance, and communities' staff during the workday.
