Cardiology Nurse Practitioner

Nashville General Hospital is seeking a skilled Cardiology Nurse Practitioner to join our team in an outpatient setting. As a key member of our cardiology team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, conducting comprehensive evaluations, and developing individualized treatment plans for patients with acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including history and physical exams, in the outpatient setting.
- Order, interpret, and manage diagnostic tests such as EKGs, echocardiograms, and cardiac stress tests.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions.
- Prescribe medications and treatments as appropriate within the APP's scope of practice.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary cardiology team to provide coordinated patient care.
- Provide patient education on cardiovascular risk factors, lifestyle modifications, and medication management.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records using electronic health records (EHR).
Qualifications:
Education:
Master's degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
Licensure/Certification:
Active Tennessee licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA). National certification in Family, Adult, Acute Care, or Cardiology (preferred). Current BLS and ACLS certification.
Experience:
Prior experience in cardiology preferred. Experience with EHR systems.
Skills:
Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and decision-making skills. Excellent communication and patient education abilities. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
Work Environment:
Outpatient clinical setting. Occasional participation in on-call rotations may be required.
