We are seeking a skilled Fire Alarm Systems Engineer to join our team in Cleveland, OH. This is a 70% travel role that requires installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of fire alarm systems across Ohio and surrounding regions.

Salary and Benefits

Job Description

This is a technical role that involves installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting fire alarm systems in commercial settings. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in fire alarm installation and troubleshooting, as well as experience with access control/burglar alarms.

The Fire Alarm Systems Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Installation and maintenance of fire alarm systems, including pulling wire, installing panels, devices, and components, and performing repairs as needed
  • System testing to verify functionality and troubleshoot issues to ensure compliance with local and national safety codes
  • Cable management, running low-voltage cabling, installing conduit, and maintaining a high standard of organization and safety
  • Travel flexibility for large or special projects primarily within Ohio and surrounding areas

The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of fire alarm systems, including EST (e.g., EST 4 or 3 fire alarm panels) or similar systems, and have the ability to interpret blueprints, site maps, and use fire alarm testing and troubleshooting equipment.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience installing and servicing fire alarm systems, intrusion alarms, and burglar alarms
  • Experience with access control systems is a plus
  • NICET Level II or higher in Fire Alarm Systems certification is preferred but not mandatory
  • Ohio Fire Alarm Contractor License is required for the installation, maintenance, and servicing of fire alarm systems in Ohio

The ideal candidate will also possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
