Job Summary:

The Assistant General Manager - Moving Center is responsible for supporting the General Manager in the day-to-day operations of the moving center. This includes managing and assigning team members, ensuring excellent customer service, and participating in ongoing continuous education through U-Haul University.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Run daily operations of the moving center in the General Manager's absence.
  • Make moment-to-moment decisions to allocate time and resources to appropriate projects.
  • Manage and assign team members to ensure customers receive an excellent first impression and the highest quality of care.
  • Participate in ongoing continuous education through U-Haul University.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in retail store management.
  • Driver's license and ability to maintain a clean driving record.
  • Leadership experience.
  • Flexible and motivated to provide excellent customer service.
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Forklift experience (certified is a plus).
  • Propane experience (a plus).
Work Environment:

The work involves moderate risks or discomforts that require special safety precautions, such as working around moving parts, machines, fumes, or irritant chemicals. May be required to use protective clothing or gear, such as masks, goggles, gloves, or shields.

Physical Demands:

The work requires some physical exertion, such as long periods of standing, walking, and lifting, as well as moving a minimum of 50 pounds assisted or unassisted.
