Hybrid Mechanical HVACR Technician

We are seeking an experienced retired mechanical HVACR technician to fill a unique hybrid role at RSM Atlanta LLC. The ideal candidate will leverage their extensive HVACR and mechanical knowledge to support our commercial restaurant equipment and facility management services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Remote Consultation and Support: Provide remote troubleshooting support to clients and field service technicians via phone, email, or video calls. Assist clients in diagnosing HVACR and mechanical issues related to commercial kitchen equipment and facilities. Guide on-site technicians through complex repair procedures. Assist with creating and updating service documentation, maintenance logs, and reports. Coordinate with the dispatching team to plan onsite visits and manage service requests. Utilize digital tools to track service requests, inventory, and equipment status.
  • On-Site Maintenance and Repair: Conduct regular on-site visits to inspect, maintain, and repair HVACR systems in commercial restaurant settings. Ensure all HVACR and mechanical systems comply with health and safety regulations. Perform installations, replacements, and upgrades of HVACR and restaurant equipment.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement preventive maintenance plans to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of HVACR systems and restaurant equipment. Conduct regular inspections and maintenance tasks as per the schedule.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities. Prepare detailed reports on the condition of HVACR and restaurant equipment, and recommend necessary actions. Keep track of parts inventory and order supplies, ensuring timely procurement and delivery.
  • Training and Mentorship: Train and mentor junior technicians and staff on best practices and safety protocols. Conduct workshops and training sessions for clients on basic maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Facility Management: Oversee facility-related mechanical HVACR issues to ensure optimal operation of all systems. Coordinate with facility management teams to address and resolve mechanical issues promptly. Implement energy-saving measures and optimize the performance of mechanical systems.
  • Customer Service: Respond promptly to client inquiries and service requests. Provide exceptional customer service and build strong relationships with clients. Address and resolve any customer complaints or concerns effectively.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Retired Electrician with a remarkable track record of over 25 years of hands-on experience in installing HVACR equipment, including setting up units, connecting duct work, and ensuring proper system calibration. Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair issues with HVACR units, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, compressors, fans, and refrigeration systems to ensure optimal performance. Ability to perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, lubrication, and filter replacement. Strong analytical skills to diagnose and resolve complex system issues. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Proficiency in using digital tools for remote consultation and documentation. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal skills. Stable internet connection. Flexible working hours to accommodate customer needs and training schedules.
  • Physical Requirements: Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy equipment and working in confined spaces. Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in varying environmental conditions, including hot and noisy environments.
  • Other Requirements: Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for on-site visits. Willingness to travel to various restaurant locations as needed. Availability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings or weekends, to accommodate client needs.
