Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Neuropsychologist to join our team at Montefiore Medical Center. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in clinical neuropsychology and rehabilitation psychology, with experience in assessing and treating patients with brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, and other neurological disorders.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct comprehensive neuropsychological assessments of patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
  2. Develop and implement treatment plans to address cognitive, emotional, and behavioral deficits.
  3. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  4. Provide education and training to psychology externs, interns, and other clinical staff.
  5. Stay up-to-date with the latest research and developments in clinical neuropsychology and rehabilitation psychology.
  6. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
  7. Adhere to the American Psychological Association's Ethical Code for the professional practice of psychology.
  8. Complete case notes and reporting requirements in a timely and efficient manner.
  9. Follow hospital and departmental rules, regulations, and policies.
  10. Tailor clinical approach and treatment plan with awareness of and respect for cultural and socioeconomic differences.
  11. Maintain annual certification for non-violent crisis intervention techniques (NVCI).
  12. Participate in annual surveys for institutional accreditation.
  13. Have knowledge of and respect for the rights of patients.
  14. Follow infection control practices and procedures for safety of patients, co-workers, and self.
  15. Demonstrate knowledge of and adherence to the Montefiore Medical Center's mission, philosophy, and core values.
  16. Effectively accomplish other reasonable duties as assigned by the Chief of Rehabilitation and Neuropsychology Services.
  17. Adhere to Service Excellence Standards by demonstrating positive communication, prompt and respectful service, and maintaining an appropriate work environment when working with patients, staff, co-workers, visitors, and others.
  18. Practice Universal Precautions.
Requirements:

Education and Experience: PhD or PsyD in clinical psychology from an APA-accredited doctoral program with post-graduate training in clinical neuropsychology and/or rehabilitation psychology. License to practice psychology in the State of New York required. Board certification or Board Certification Eligibility with the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP) is desirable. Ability to offer bilingual neuropsychological services (particularly in Spanish) is also a plus. A minimum of 2-3 years experience in rehabilitation neuropsychology and/or neuropsychology is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Strong collaborative skills to work in a multi-disciplinary team setting. Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting. Ability to apply skills to an inpatient and outpatient setting. Must be able to manage competing priorities to achieve goals. Good oral and written communication skills.

Work Environment: Pleasant work environment; fast-paced at times; working conditions as may be typical in a hospital or clinic setting.

Special Requirements: Current NYS license
