Blood Collections Manager

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Blood Collections Manager to join our team at the American Red Cross. As a key member of our blood collection operations, you will be responsible for leading a team of professionals to ensure the efficient and effective collection of blood and blood products to meet annual collection goals and regional patient need.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the collection operations within the territory to achieve annual collection goals in a cost-efficient and effective manner.
- Establish and oversee the deployment of appropriate staffing levels to ensure the efficient and effective collection of blood and blood products.
- Develop and supervise departmental supervisors and other collections staff to enhance the success of the operation and minimize turnover.
- Ensure effective internal and external communication between all department levels and functions to foster teamwork and enhance operational success.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
- 3 years of supervisory or management experience required.
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to handle multiple priorities effectively, analyze problems, and implement appropriate solutions.
- Ability to work independently while developing functioning teams among staff.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to deal with all levels of staff, hospital personnel, physicians, volunteers, and donors.
- Basic computer skills required, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years of management experience in the healthcare field.
