Make a Difference in the Lives of Others

Thrive Behavioral Health is seeking a Part Time Housing Assistant to join our team in our Warren Office. As a Housing Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our clients with mental illness and substance use disorders.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the day-to-day operations of our housing program to ensure compliance with governmental regulations and monitoring requirements.
  • Maintain relationships with tenants, partners, vendors, and landlords.
  • Respond to inquiries and complaints from tenants, property owners, and the general public.
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings, appointments, and program events.
  • Process housing applications, verify applicant information, and lease apartments.
  • Compile and assess eligibility information in compliance with housing regulations.
  • Develop and maintain tenant filing systems for accuracy and completeness.
  • Research tenant information and review housing program case files.
  • Prepare annual rent reasonableness surveys and assist in property management.
  • Prepare monthly reports and set up inspections of apartments to ensure conformance with HUD Housing Quality Standards.
  • Participate in initial, annual, and interim tenant interview processes.
  • Provide general administrative support for year-end reporting and compliance audits.
  • Accurately produce bills and track collection of rents and tenant information.
  • Compile and evaluate wait list eligibility information.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three years of experience in a housing office or human service environment, with computer applications skills.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and proficiency using the Internet.
  • Valid driver's license or ability to obtain necessary transportation.
