Job Description

At Tigua Inc., we are seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join our team. As a key member of our pre-construction process, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects. Your expertise will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of our projects and maximizing profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
  • Prepare comprehensive bid proposals that are competitive, accurate, and aligned with project requirements and specifications.
  • Solicit and evaluate bids from suppliers and subcontractors, negotiate pricing, and maintain strong relationships with industry partners.
  • Collaborate with the project team to identify cost-saving opportunities through value engineering without compromising quality.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of project plans and specifications to identify potential cost risks and opportunities.
  • Monitor and track project costs throughout the construction phase, assisting in change order pricing and cost control.
  • Maintain organized and well-documented records of all estimating activities, including proposals, correspondence, and historical cost data.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure accurate and cohesive project estimates.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Business or Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in estimating.
  • Proven experience as a commercial construction estimator.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in construction estimating software and tools.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Conditions of Employment:

  • May be required to serve a probationary period.
  • An Employment and Financial Interest Statement is required.
  • This position requires a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).

Location: Onsite El Paso TX

Travel: 30% required

Physical and Technical Environment:

  • Must be able to lift 10 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to work at a computer for extended periods of time.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
