Job Summary:

The OPS Health Services Representative will provide disease intervention and public health awareness activities as an integral member of the DOH Pasco STD Program. This includes partner counseling and referral services, epidemiological case analysis and investigations, notification, counseling, and referral services of individuals exposed to or at risk of infection from chlamydia, gonorrhea, hepatitis, herpes simplex virus (HSV), HIV/AIDS, human papilloma virus (HPV), syphilis, and other bacterial, biological, and viral agents.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct fact-finding interviews and analyze data to identify community resources and develop targeted screening-outreach programs.
  • Communicate effectively with health care clients and professionals, as well as other stakeholders, to promote public health awareness and prevention.
  • Monitor task lists and investigate reported cases of sexually transmitted diseases and human immunodeficiency virus (STD/HIV).
  • Collaborate with TB program managers to update and maintain records, and provide assistance in locating individuals who are delinquent, non-compliant, or lost to medical supervision.
  • Conduct educational activities with lay and professional audiences, and provide in-service training to medical professionals on subjects such as STD/HIV counseling and testing.
Requirements:
  • Valid Florida Driver's License.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to security and confidentiality policies and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Working Conditions:

The OPS Health Services Representative will work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines. The position requires minimal supervision and independent decision-making. The successful candidate will be required to complete the Form I-9 and that information will be verified using the E-Verify system.
