We are seeking a dedicated anesthesiology physician for a locum tenens opportunity in a historic seaport area.

This position is ideal for an experienced anesthesiologist looking to join a critical access hospital with a balanced schedule and call requirements.

Job Description:

Position Type: Locum Tenens

Specialty: Anesthesiology

Start Date: ASAP

End Date: Ongoing

Coverage Type: Scheduled Clinical Hours + Call

Practice Setting: Critical access hospital

EMR System: EPIC

Shift Hours: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Call Schedule: Every third, flexible

Average Surgical Cases per Day: 14-16, including endoscopy

Responsibilities:

  • Provide anesthesia for general surgical cases, including minor nerve blocks, plexus anesthesia, epidural anesthesia, spinal anesthesia, regional anesthesia, and obstetrical cases
  • Perform pain management procedures, including acute pain management and arterial line insertion
  • Manage and evaluate acute volume and blood pressure issues
  • No supervision of CRNAs required; physicians perform their own cases
  • Prepare the anesthesia cart and handle pre-op documentation using Epic
  • Work with congenial, professional, and helpful OR staff in a facility with three anesthesia sites per day

Qualifications:

  • Board Certification: Board Certified ABA required (candidates in the board certification process will be considered)
  • State License: Licensed in Maine or willing to obtain
  • Certifications: ACLS and BLS preferred
  • Estimated Credentialing Timeframe: 60 days

Estimated Salary: $250,000 - $300,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
