Job Title: Senior Communications Manager

The Senior Communications Manager is a key role within the Department of Marketing and Communications at CFP Board. This position is responsible for developing and delivering communications to stakeholders that promote CFP Board's mission and strategic priorities, enhancing stakeholder engagement and awareness.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategic communications plans to engage stakeholders and promote CFP Board's mission and priorities.
  • Write and edit content for various channels, including the website, newsletter, presentations, and social media.
  • Collaborate with departments across the organization to identify and develop written communications that meet stakeholder needs.
  • Maintain and enforce CFP Board's messaging hierarchy, branding, and content and style guidelines.
  • Provide editorial review services for documents produced by all departments to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Manage the editorial review process and provide editing and writing services as needed.
  • Support the development and execution of stakeholder surveys and award applications.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in communication, journalism, English, or public relations, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of seven years of strategic communications experience.
  • Superb writing skills and excellent verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience developing presentations and graphic design skills.
  • Good judgment and instincts with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ease with all relevant technology, CRM, and CMS systems.
  • Experience in editorial review and quality control of written and online communications.
About CFP Board:

CFP Board is the professional body for personal financial planners in the U.S. CFP Board consists of two affiliated organizations focused on advancing the financial planning profession for the public's benefit. CFP Board of Standards sets and upholds standards for financial planning and administers the prestigious CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER certification.

This position works on programs that are part of both the 501(c)(6) and the 501(c)(3). The position is based in the Washington D.C. office and works a hybrid schedule.
