Peer Support Services Coordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled Peer Support Services Coordinator to join our team at First Contact. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing peer support services to current First Responders and their families.
About the RoleThis is a full-time position that offers a competitive salary of $ $20 per hour. The successful candidate will work Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.
The primary responsibility of this role is to provide short-term care coordination services as the First Responders and their families navigate the health and human service system of care.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive person-centered screenings in accordance with best practices.
- Screen First Responders for safety and risk.
- Conduct comprehensive need and service assessments.
- Coordinate care plans with the First Responders and their family.
- Provide follow-up and monitor referral connections to service delivery.
- Advocate on behalf of the First Responders and their family for access to qualified services that meet their needs.
- Compare correspondence, case notes, narratives, technical reports, notifications, and related documents using computer-based applications.
- Model the attributes of respect, trust, sensitivity, and confidentiality when interacting with callers, volunteers, and coworkers.
- Actively participate in ongoing supervision, training, and team meetings.
- Achieve certification as a Recovery Peer Specialist within 18 months of hire.
- Pursue AIRS and AAS certifications when eligible.
- Exceptional verbal communication, customer service, and time management skills.
- Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports, and respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients or members of the community.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Proficient personal computer skills, including email, recordkeeping, database activity, word processing, and spreadsheet software.
- Bachelor's degree or currently seeking major coursework in library science, social work, psychology, education, or a closely related field.
- Paid or unpaid peer support experience is an asset.
- Above-average computer skills, including experience working in Microsoft Office environments.
