Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Supplier Quality Engineer to join our team at BAE Systems USA. As a key member of our Electronics Category Supplier Quality team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and delivery of electronic components and assemblies from our suppliers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate and resolve quality issues with suppliers, utilizing quality science tools and analytical skills to establish innovative solutions.
  • Develop and implement tools and processes to ensure suppliers have robust manufacturing and acceptance plans to deliver first-time quality to BAE Systems.
  • Lead multiple supplier quality projects to completion, collaborating with suppliers to develop improvement plans and ensuring compliance with quality and delivery expectations.
  • Champion a preventive and predictive quality mentality, promoting the use of APQP, Lean Six-Sigma, and other applicable systems and tools.
  • Utilize supplier scorecards and metrics to quantify performance levels and work with suppliers to develop improvement plans.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and 4 years of experience in a relevant function and industry, or 8 years of experience in lieu of degree.
  • Work experience in a supplier quality engineering role, with experience in inspections, product test, equipment, and instrumentation.
  • Direct knowledge of manufacturing processes and supply chain logistics from raw material to finished goods.
  • Effective problem-solving skills, with the ability to express ideas clearly, directly, and objectively.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical discipline and at least 5 years of work experience in a relevant function and industry.
  • Experience in aerospace or defense electronics prime contract environment.
  • Working knowledge of AS9100 quality system, AS9102C first article requirements, and AS9145 advanced product quality planning.
  • Lean Six Sigma green belt certification or above, with working knowledge of APQP and PPAP systems.
