Overview
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse LPN or RN to join our team at Community Medical Services. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals struggling with substance abuse.
Job Summary
The successful candidate will work closely with our medical providers to administer medications, monitor patient progress, and provide exceptional care in a corrections setting. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to grow professionally and personally while making a positive impact in our community.
Responsibilities
- Administer medications as ordered by medical providers
- Maintain accurate client records in our electronic health record system
- Monitor patient behavior, medical symptoms, and physical symptoms related to medication use
- Obtain vital signs, blood specimens, and urine samples
- Process point-of-care urine drug screens according to company policy
- Deliver medications to external facilities
- Maintain accurate medication inventory records
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations
- Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance skills and knowledge
Requirements
- Licensed LPN or RN in the state of employment
- CPR certification required
- Ability to travel between Department of Corrections sites daily
- Eligible for clearance by the Department of Corrections for entry into the facility
- Experience in substance abuse treatment preferred but not required
