Senior Surveying Technician

Toman Engineering Company, a leading civil engineering and surveying firm in Central North Dakota, is seeking a skilled Senior Surveying Technician to join our team. With over 75 years of experience, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional services to our clients.

Competitive salary range: $55,000 - $70,000 per year, depending on experience. Comprehensive benefits package includes health insurance, vision, dental, life insurance, PTO, holidays, Aflac supplement insurance, and a retirement contribution plan.

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Civil Engineering Technician to work independently under general supervision. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating survey equipment, performing routine surveying tasks, and drafting using AutoCAD and other software.

• Gather field data and perform general surveying tasks (land & construction)
• Become familiar with project plans, specifications, maps, and related materials, utilizing the information effectively
• Prepare reports and document project activities and data
• Draft technical drawings using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other software
• Assist in project design, review, and documentation
• Support civil engineering projects and water resources studies
• Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, and team members

• Familiarity with Trimble GIS survey equipment and TBC data collector software
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and willingness to become proficient in Civil 3D
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
• Effective verbal/written communication skills
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and organized individual
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record

• 1-3 years of experience preferred
• Associate's Degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Land Surveying, and/or Drafting Technology, or in process of obtaining degree
