Job Description

Modern Chevrolet of Winston-Salem is seeking a skilled Express Technician to join our team. As an Express Technician, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and other routine maintenance services.

Responsibilities
  • Perform work as outlined on the repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
  • Sell lubrication, safety inspection, and other related services.
  • Maintain records on regular customers, following up periodically with telephone, mail, or personal reminders.
  • Drain oil from crankcase and refill with the required amount of oil.
  • Replace oil and air filters.
  • Inspect vehicle fluid levels, and replace or replenish as necessary.
  • Check tire pressure and add air if needed.
  • Lubricate moving parts with specified lubricants.
  • Communicate with the parts department to obtain needed parts.
  • Report machinery defects or malfunctions to the supervisor.
  • Document all work performed on the repair order.
  • Participate in manufacturer-sponsored training programs as assigned by the service manager.
  • Keep abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.
  • Ensure that customers' cars are kept clean. Notify the service advisor immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
  • Keep shop area neat and clean.
  • Maintain and be accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals. Return them to the proper place and in the same condition as when they were received.
  • Understand, keep abreast of, and comply with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.
  • Operate all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
  • Report any safety issues immediately to management.
Qualifications
  • Three to six months of automotive maintenance/repair experience preferred.
  • Deep understanding of automobiles and speedy diagnostic abilities.
  • Effective analytical and communication skills and eagerness to improve.
  • Ability to learn new technology, repair, and service procedures and specifications.
  • Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment.
  • High School Diploma or GED (required).
  • ASE Certification/Technical degree (preferred).
  • One year in a service department.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
