About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Territory Business Development Representative to join our team at US Foods. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about building relationships, driving sales growth, and delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Foster strong relationships with customers in a team-based selling model, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded.
  • Manage delivery schedules, troubleshoot issues, and communicate effectively with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Collect accounts receivable, work closely with the credit department, and ensure timely payment of balances due.
  • Identify new business opportunities, leverage market intelligence databases, and develop strategic plans to drive sales growth.
  • Stay up-to-date on market conditions, product innovations, and competitors' products, sharing valuable insights with customers to enhance their businesses.
  • Drive motor vehicles to visit customers and prospects, occasionally lifting up to 75 pounds.

Supervision and Relationships

  • No direct reports, but close collaboration with District Sales Managers, Regional Sales Managers, and other internal teams.
  • Internal relationships: District Sales Manager, Regional Sales Manager, VP of Local Sales, Accounting/Credit Department, Merchandising and Marketing, Operations, and Customer Contact.
  • External relationships: Customers, vendors, prospective customers.

Work Environment

This role requires frequent outside office visits, working in variable weather and temperature conditions, often involving extended periods of sitting, standing, walking, and driving.

Requirements

  • 1+ year of sales experience preferred.
  • Foodservice industry/culinary/restaurant management/hospitality experience an asset.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to build internal and external relationships, cold call, and develop new business.
  • Exceptional customer service, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
  • Results-driven mentality, competitive spirit, and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office products, and CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) experience an advantage.

Compensation and Benefits

Our estimated base salary range is $50,000 to $80,000 per year, depending on relevant experience and education.
