Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Associate

Knox Area Rescue Ministries is a non-profit organization providing vital services to those in need. We are seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Associate to join our team.

About the Job:
The successful candidate will work closely with the Facilities team to ensure that all sanitation and upkeep procedures are followed, maintaining a clean and safe environment for our guests, staff, and volunteers.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain daily and periodic checklists for essential sanitation and cleaning duties.
  • Exhibit exceptional hospitality in all aspects of service, ensuring a positive experience for everyone who visits or works at KARM.
  • Coordinate projects for outside volunteer groups and assist in training of Clean Start program for guests.
  • Work collaboratively with the Facilities Team, Outside Volunteers, and Ministry Helpers to ensure all facility upkeep policies and procedures are carried out.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and address any issues promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records and schedules for KARM asset maintenance and repairs.
  • Be prepared to respond to facility emergencies as needed, including after hours.

Requirements:
  • Demonstrated organizational and administrative skills, with a proven track record of accuracy in recordkeeping.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple tasks within tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional delegation, coaching, and project management skills.
  • Familiarity with best practice facility upkeep protocols and general experience working in a similar environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • A commitment to Christian values is required.

Working Environment:
  • Light industrial setting with occasional travel to other KARM facilities.
  • Potential hazards associated with hands-on facility upkeep, sanitation, and maintenance tasks.
  • Physical demands include pushing, pulling, and lifting equipment weighing up to 120 pounds.
  • Occasional evening or weekend work may be required for special events or hosting volunteer groups.

Estimated Salary Range: $35,000 - $50,000 per year, depending on experience.
