We're seeking a skilled and compassionate Deceased Transportation Coordinator to join our team at Service Corporation International. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for safely transporting deceased individuals to various locations, ensuring that all processes and procedures are followed in compliance with local and state laws.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safely drive company-owned vehicles to perform transfers, adhering to strict protocols for chain-of-custody, paperwork, and deceased identification.
  • Collaborate with first responders, coroner, hospital staff, and senior living facility personnel to accommodate their processes and procedures.
  • Provide courteous and professional interactions with bereaved family members during home transfers, while minimizing conversation and following company procedures for transferring soiled items.
  • Enter deceased event information into proprietary software according to established procedures.
  • Transport caskets to airports, care centers, or funeral homes, assisting with moving caskets as needed.
Vehicle Maintenance
  • Clean and present vehicles, washing, vacuuming, and fueling them as necessary.
  • Maintain personal protective equipment and transfer supplies in vehicles, including cleaning products.
  • Identify vehicle engine or operating issues and report them to management, driving vehicles for repair or inspection when necessary.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Current state-issued driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • At least one year of work experience as a courier or driver, with direct customer interaction preferred.
Work Environment
  • Work indoors and outdoors during various weather conditions, frequently standing for up to 6 hours per day.
  • Local and/or multiple location traveling required, complying with Field dress code policy.
  • Lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 75 pounds, along with frequent climbing of stairs to access buildings.
