Pulmonary Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled Pulmonary Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team at Northwell Health. As a key member of our pulmonary medicine department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our clinical programs.
Key Responsibilities- Taking initial patient histories and performing physical examinations to assess patient needs and develop effective treatment plans.
- Initiating, documenting, and communicating patient care plans to ensure complete screening and preparation of patients.
- Performing daily patient rounds to monitor patient progress and address any concerns.
- Writing orders for medications, laboratory work, and diagnostic tests to ensure timely and accurate patient care.
- Interpreting laboratory and test results to inform patient care decisions.
- Conferring with attending physicians, residents, and other care providers to ensure optimum quality of patient care.
- Noting discharge summaries, prescriptions, and referrals on patient charts to ensure seamless transitions of care.
- Informing patients of necessary post-discharge care instructions to promote optimal health outcomes.
- Master's Degree in a Nurse Practitioner Program and National Board Certification in specialty area required.
- Current license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in New York State, and current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State, required.
- Collaborative practice agreement with designated protocols filed with NYS Department of Education OR collaborative relationship attestation as per the Nurse Practitioner Modernization Act 2015.
- Current BLS certification, required.
- or Bachelor's Degree, required. Graduate of an accredited (Accreditation Review Committee for Physician Assistant Programs ARC-PA) program, required.
- Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant (PA) by the New York State Department of Education, required.
- Current NCCPA Certification from the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), required.
- Current BLS certification, required.
