Environment for the Americas (EFTA) is a non-profit organization based in Boulder, Colorado. We aim to connect diverse individuals with conservation efforts through education, outreach, and research.

Our internship programs are crucial in achieving this goal. We collaborate with underrepresented youth across the country and federal/non-governmental agencies to provide opportunities for hands-on learning and skill-building.

This position focuses on habitats for the Monarch butterfly on military installations in California, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, and other states along the I35 corridor. Ideal candidates will have experience living or working on military installations and interacting with military personnel.

Job Description

As an Ecological Program Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating activities along the I35 corridor and assisting with work in California. Key duties include:

  • Organizing program logistics, such as travel arrangements and webinars;
  • Developing program materials and activities, like recruitment and training programs;
  • Communicating with partners at multiple military installations;
  • Planning and implementing internship activities;
  • Conducting site visits to work with interns and site partners;
  • Assisting with project budgeting, including developing and managing budgets;
  • Participating in conferences and workshops related to internships and diversity, equity, and inclusion;
  • Supporting intern recruitment and participation by Blue Star families;
  • Conducting applicant interviews and selecting candidates;
  • Participating actively in internship meetings;
  • Developing new ideas and activities to enhance our internship programs;
  • Contributing to a positive office culture;
  • Working collaboratively with major partners.

This full-time position may require occasional evening and weekend work, as well as up to 10% travel, some of which may involve overnight stays.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is $62,000 - $72,000, depending on experience. Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and retirement savings matching.
