Job Description

As a Radio Personality and Operations Manager, you will be responsible for preparing and executing a daily show Monday through Friday, creating engaging content for our online platforms, and overseeing the daily operations of our digital sub-channels. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about radio broadcasting, has excellent communication skills, and is able to work independently with minimal supervision.



Key Responsibilities


  • Host a live, daily program on WLDF-FM, Monday through Friday, featuring timely, newsworthy, or trending subject matter.
  • Maintain expert-level knowledge of our digital library/automation system and ensure seamless execution of daily shows.
  • Plan and coordinate daily show topics, book guests as needed, and produce a daily promo outlining the next day's program.
  • Create original content, including two YouTube videos per month, and contribute to one special project video per quarter.
  • Write and narrate website articles, music reviews, and other engaging content for our online platforms.
  • Attend weekly/monthly meetings, make in-person appearances, and participate in radio station promotions as directed.
  • Work in compliance with Company policies and procedures as well as FCC guidelines.


Operations Manager Responsibilities


  • Collaborate with the Director of Broadcast Media to ensure all on-air talent adheres to library rules and objectives.
  • Schedule music logs one week in advance for all assigned dayparts on digital sub-channels using NaturalMusic.
  • Service and maintain the radio station's digital music library, including cataloging and metadata management.
  • Work with the Director of Broadcast Media to determine music rotations, clock schedules, and proper music flow.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with record company staff, promotional teams, artist managers, and concert promoters.
  • Monitor industry-wide music charts and stay up-to-date on upcoming releases, artist appearances, and music trends.
  • Administer music licensing reports as per BMI, ASCAP, SESAC, and Sound Exchange.


Requirements

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual with a keen understanding of our target demographic and a passion for supporting diverse artists and communities. The ideal candidate will possess:




  • Superior phone etiquette and ability to handle difficult callers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work with minimum supervision and multi-task with excellent time management skills.
  • Working knowledge of Radio Automation Systems, MS Office, and the Internet.
  • Ability to work independently and collectively in a mission-driven environment.
  • Reliable transportation with a valid WI Driver's License.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and 2 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
