Intensive Care Nurse

Job Summary:
We are seeking an Intensive Care Nurse to join our team at Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre, where you will be working on a 20-bed unit with a mix of private and semi-private rooms. The ideal candidate will have experience in remote telemetry and orthopedic care.
About the Role:
- Assess, plan, organize, perform, and evaluate nursing activities to meet the needs of patients.
- Promote adaptive responses of patients and families to achieve the highest level of patient care, promote safety, and maximize patient satisfaction.
- Exhibit compassionate care during patient-nurse interactions.
- Coordinate patient care and interaction of staff.
- Meet qualifications to provide care for patients in assigned nursing unit.
Responsibilities:
- Complete assessments as established by scope of practice and unit standards.
- Address physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs of patient and family throughout the continuum of care.
- Formulate, coordinate, and provide plan of care as established in unit standards, including patient and family education, family needs, and discharge planning.
- Provide direct patient care, including treatments, medications, and diagnostic studies according to policy and procedure.
- Evaluate effectiveness of nursing interventions and revise plan of care based upon patient response to interventions.
Requirements:
- Graduate from Specialty Training Program-Nursing (Required).
- Bachelor's Degree-Nursing (Preferred).
- Basic Life Support Certification - Default Issuing Body.
- Licensed Registered Nurse (Pennsylvania) - RN_State of Pennsylvania.
