Senior Director of Human Capital and Employee Relations

The Senior Director of Human Capital and Employee Relations will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of InnovAge's human capital initiatives, driving growth and positioning the organization as an employer of choice. This leader will serve as a strategic business partner to the corporate shared services functions, overseeing Human Resources strategy, design, and implementation across the assigned client group.
Key Responsibilities- Advise and coach business leaders on talent and organizational effectiveness topics to achieve business objectives, while consulting on policy, culture, and legal issues impacting the division.
- Promote and lead a vision for the future of the InnovAge workforce by developing and executing a lifecycle approach to people management, focused on forecasting, staffing, development, on-boarding, performance management, retention, succession planning, talent movement, engagement, and leveraging workforce insights and analytics.
- Possess a keen understanding of the business strategy, market factors, and financial position to influence leadership on people strategies that add value to the business's bottom line.
- Coach and develop HR business partners to shape short and long-term people strategies that promote the highest level of employee and organizational performance for their region, support the execution of job responsibilities at a high-performance level, and ensure professional development and career growth.
- Passionate about diversity, equity, and inclusion, and accountable for shaping how programs and strategic initiatives will be successfully applied and advanced.
- Leverage workforce insights and analytics to assess and recommend solutions to various stakeholders, including senior management.
- Driven to maintain a superior level of HR technical expertise, including tracking critical external trends and best practices that should be evaluated and implemented in the Region.
- Provides direction and policy to ensure equitable and consistent treatment of employees across all locations, in line with InnovAge company policy and adapted where needed.
- Lead all people-programs to drive growth, including mergers or acquisitions, organic site expansion, or interactions with internal or external partners on various business models.
- Member of the HR leadership team, providing input and guidance on enterprise people programs and overall enterprise strategic direction, including leading initiatives as delegated by HR leadership.
- Serves as a Subject Matter Expert on California Labor and Employee Relations.
- 10+ years in HR with evidence of career progression and managing teams.
- 7 years in HR Leadership.
- Specific California experience in Employee Relations and Labor Relations.
- Strong understanding and compliance knowledge of California labor laws, rules, and regulations.
- Strong hand-on knowledge and application of federal laws, rules, and regulations.
- Significant experience in investigating complex employee issues, including harassment, discrimination, and retaliation.
- Bachelor's Degree or extensive human resources leadership experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- PHR or SPHR or SHRM-CP or specialty California certification.
- Previous Healthcare leadership experience.
