Job Title: Special Event Associate

At The Loveland Center, Inc, we are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Special Event Associate to support the planning, marketing, coordination, and execution of fundraising events, community outreach initiatives, and programmatic events in Sarasota, Charlotte, and Manatee Counties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Event Planning & Coordination: Assist in developing and implementing event plans, timelines, and logistics, including coordinating with vendors, volunteers, and staff to ensure event needs are met.
  • Fundraising Support: Support fundraising efforts through event sponsorships, in-kind donations, ticket sales/attendees, and donations as outlined in the projected event budget.
  • Track Event Income and Expenses: Ensure budgetary compliance, including minimum goals for sponsorship and event attendance, along with other sources of revenue and expenses.
  • Communicate the Loveland Mission: Communicate the Loveland mission at community-based events and speaking engagements to raise awareness for Loveland Center and individuals with I/DD.
  • Network and Engage: Network and engage with community businesses, individuals, and nonprofits to grow the Loveland brand in neighboring communities.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in event management, communications, or a related field (preferred, but not required).
  • 1-2 years experience in event planning, fundraising, or a related role, preferably in the non-profit sector.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused attitude.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and Google Suite; experience with event management and marketing software is a plus.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, as required for events.
  • Must have a driver's license and access to a reliable motor vehicle.
