Weekender Flex RN Job Description

Cleveland Clinic's Hillcrest Hospital is seeking a skilled Weekender Flex RN to join our team. As a member of our Progressive Care Unit (PCU), you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to deliver exceptional outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct nursing care to patients with diverse medical needs, including hemodynamic monitoring, continuous respiratory care, and pharmacologic interventions.
  • Implement, monitor, evaluate, update, and revise patient care plans to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Monitor, record, document, and communicate patients' conditions to ensure seamless care transitions.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments, and note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patients' discharge needs to ensure a smooth transition to home or other care settings.
  • Educate patients and their families on self-care and disease management to promote health and well-being.
Requirements:
  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • One year of current acute care RN experience, or military RN experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Physical Requirements:

This role requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. You will also need to stand and walk for extended periods, and work under stressful conditions and irregular hours.

Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids is possible. This role is classified as Medium Work, exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Personal Protective Equipment:

You will be required to follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as needed.
