Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Occupational Therapist Assistant to work with our patients in their homes. As an OTA with Amedisys, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals and families in need of occupational therapy services.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide skilled interventions in accordance with physician-approved plans of care and under the direction and supervision of occupational therapists.
  • Document each visit according to AOTA documentation guidelines and accepted regulatory standards for inclusion in the patient's clinical record.
  • Observe, record, and report patient responses to treatment and any changes in condition to supervising OTs, physicians, and other relevant clinical staff.
  • Offer patient/caregiver resources for future ADL/IADL needs.
  • Promote wellness and prevention through occupational engagement.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of available community resources and services.
  • Recommend follow-up care in coordination with the care center that admitted the patient/client.
  • Stay current with occupational therapy trends and knowledge for service provision, documentation skills, and care coordination.

Qualifications:

  • Current license to practice as an Occupational Therapy Assistant, specific to the state of employment.
  • Graduate of an Occupational Therapy Assistant program accredited by ACOTE or its successor organizations.
  • Eligible to take or has successfully completed the entry-level certification examination for occupational therapy assistants, developed and administered by NBCOT.
  • At least one year of related occupational therapy experience to ensure sufficient knowledge and skills for safe provision of occupational therapy services to patients.
  • Current CPR certification.

Compensation and Benefits:

The estimated salary for this position is $34.50 per hour, based on location and experience. Amedisys offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) with company match, paid time off, and more.
