About the Role:

As an Embedded Systems Software Development Lead at Big A Tech Search, you will play a pivotal part in designing and implementing cutting-edge systems for space and defense applications.

This is a full-time position located in Poway, CA. Please note that this role is only open to U.S. citizens or permanent residents (Green Card holders).

The estimated salary range for this position is $160,000 to $185,000 annually, accompanied by comprehensive benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Craft and test embedded software for space and defense systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Develop device drivers, bootloaders, and bare-metal systems, utilizing your expertise in C/C++ and microcontrollers (ARM, PowerPC, etc.).
  • Implement firmware with RTOS (e.g., VxWorks) and NAND flash, while also working with FPGAs (e.g., Xilinx).
  • Tackle system bring-up, debugging, and hardware optimization tasks, applying your problem-solving skills and team-oriented approach.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering (or other degree with extensive embedded experience).
  • A minimum of 5 years in embedded software development, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality results.
  • Expertise in C/C++, device drivers, RTOS, bootloaders, and microcontrollers (ARM, PowerPC, etc.).
  • Knowledge of real-time operating environments and low-level programming principles.
  • Effective problem-solving abilities and a collaborative mindset, with excellent communication skills.

Bonus Skills:

  • FPGA development, NAND storage knowledge, and hardware-software co-design skills.
