Produce Order Coordinator

The Produce Order Writer is responsible for maintaining a clean and organized produce department, ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction, and contributing to the success of Whole Foods Market. This role involves purchasing and replenishing produce, monitoring inventory control, and participating in regional programs for purchasing and promotions.
Key Responsibilities- Purchasing and Replenishment: Purchase and replenish produce through proper buying procedures, ensuring timely and accurate orders to monitor inventory turns.
- Inventory Control: Monitor and act upon open PO reports for both purchases and credits in an accurate and timely manner, controlling spoilage and shrink, and achieving turn goals.
- Merchandising: Maximize sales potential through effective and proper procedures for stocking and merchandising products, ensuring orders are timely and accurate.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, addressing needs in a timely and effective manner, and modeling suggestive selling techniques.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the team to achieve sales and customer satisfaction goals, maintaining a positive company image at all times.
- Extensive Produce Knowledge: Possess extensive knowledge of produce products, including production, distribution, seasonal availability, advances, and trends.
- Math Skills: Demonstrate strong basic math skills, including the ability to calculate inventory levels and manage cash handling.
- Communication Skills: Possess strong communication skills, including the ability to deliver information in a clear and respectful manner to customers, vendors, and team members.
- Time Management: Demonstrate effective time management and organization skills, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines and achieve sales goals.
The Produce Order Writer will work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on providing excellent customer service and maintaining a clean and organized produce department. This role requires standing/walking for 6-8 hours, lifting up to 50 pounds, and using tools and equipment, including knives, box cutters, and electric pallet jacks.
This is a full-time position, requiring a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. The ideal candidate will be passionate about natural foods, customer service, and teamwork, with a strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
