Job Summary

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to deliver patient-centered care that incorporates family centered principles and cost-effective care in a technology and resource rich environment. This includes assessing, planning, educating, implementing, and evaluating age-appropriate care for patients with complex needs.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or Associate's degree in nursing with acceptance or current enrollment in a BSN program
  • 1 year experience in nursing
  • RN License by Texas Board of Nursing or Nurse License Compact
  • CPR - Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association
  • Ability to demonstrate positive and appropriate interpersonal skills, good time and resource management skills, flexibility, strong oral and written communication skills, knowledge of unit-specific equipment, and knowledge of the nursing process
Responsibilities
  • Perform and document assessment of the patient/family including biophysical, psychosocial, developmental (age-appropriate), culture, spiritual, and environmental needs
  • Analyze situations, anticipate potential problems, and detect changes in patient status
  • Re-prioritize and update plan of care based on new information and changes to the patient's condition; communicate this information to other health care team members and documents in the medical record
  • Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and/or patient care conferences and documents in the medical record
  • Assist patients/family in implementing their role in the plan of care as appropriate
  • Average annual salary: $85,000-$110,000 depending on location and experience
