Mass General Brigham is seeking a dedicated Diagnostic Radiology Technologist to join our team on a per diem basis. This exciting opportunity allows for flexible scheduling and the chance to work with a diverse range of patients.

About the Role

As a Diagnostic Radiology Technologist, you will be responsible for performing radiographic procedures at a technical level, requiring independent judgment to apply ionizing radiation for radiological diagnosis. You will work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care and timely results.

Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic radiology services for patients of all ages, applying principles of radiation protection and adhering to departmental policy and procedure.
  • Provide patient care and education, recognizing patient conditions requiring immediate action and initiating life support measures as needed.
  • Maintain knowledge of emergency equipment location and code alert procedure, exercising professional judgment in the performance of procedures.
  • Assist physicians with imaging procedures and administration of contrast media, acquiring and maintaining knowledge of related topics such as radiation safety and contact precautions.
  • Participate in identified professional programs, in-service training, and department meetings, assisting in clerical and other areas as assigned.
Requirements
  • Completion of formal radiologic technology training in an AMA-approved school.
  • Active Massachusetts license to perform radiography, preferably with one year of experience.
  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or registry eligible with successful completion within 3 months of hire.
  • One year of experience preferred, with effective verbal, electronic, and written communication skills using the English language.
  • High level of service delivery, demonstrating initiative, prioritization, and adaptability.
  • Problem-solving skills for treatment planning and execution, considering patient age, psychosocial, and cultural background.
  • Computer proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office applications and ability to learn new software.
Work Environment

The Diagnostic Radiology Technologist will work in a fast-paced hospital environment, with regular exposure to blood-borne pathogens, risk of radiation exposure, and other hazards. The ideal candidate will be able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and move around the department as needed.
